[CW] I don't get it?

The main guys at the FCC have no idea. Just like on most things they pass on, they do it because someone asks. Its the same as them not giving us back the channel 1 tv freq, they took away eons ago for tv, and since no longer gonna be used, we should have gotten it back. Rather than that, they go auction it off.

What is "experimental" about the 500kHz neighborhood? It's not like this is some newly discovered spectrum, never used before. Yet the FCC issues "experimental" licenses to operate there, and now I see the Canadians are doing the same. What are hams going to learn that isn't already well known from the nearly-100-years or so of previous use?
