[CW] Audio "System" for CW notes?

   I prefer operating CW but I listen to everything.
   In general, high frequency noise becomes tiring after a while.
Most efforts wind up lowering the level of the hiss.
I use an 8 inch "polyplanar" intercom speaker (45 Ohms as I recall)
most of the time and metal diaphragm "cans" earphones during more
noisy times.  For casual listening I frequently use the internal
speaker.
   Others have used "hi-fi" speaker set's "woofer" or the "sub-
woofer" unit without the high frequency components with great
results.  It is important to avoid high frequency headphones
without using a DSP or other filtering system to be able to
limit the energy above the desired tone.  The traditional
"KOSS" type total ear coverage kind are a great advantage if
you ever experience local noise like household, traffic or
railroad noises.
   Also remember it is easy to take the "RCA" connector audio
out and feed it to a small audio amplifier and then to a simple
switch feeding any number of speakers and "cans," to optimize
the sound to the situation.  One position can be a 8 or 10 ohm
resistor so you can turn up the internal speaker for SWL
listening.
