Ah, yes, that bit of the Part 97 honored _far_ more in the breach than
in the observance. "You're 30 over S9 here, OM. Great signal!"

One of my favorite sigs, a quote from a post in a Usenet group, seems 
to capture the spirit of the thing quite well:
