Hey Guys,

Thanks for the responses. As I'm coming to expect from this group, they
were all thoughtful and well-reasoned. Quite refreshing for an email
list. Lou

Hi Lou,
Yep, as you suspect, it has been discussed many times. I dare say that
this
weekend a few fellows found out one of the major disadvantages of having

learned the Iambic method. A single paddle trained op can proficiently
use
a single lever paddle, BUT he/she can also use an Iambic paddle just as
well. You can't say that the opposite is true. So if the Iambic
trained op
sat down at the FD rig and found it was a single lever paddle....well
you
see my point. I have both single and dual lever paddles in my shack and

depending on my mood, I use which ever one is convenient. Personally, I
put
Iambic in the same category as the Edsel, hi.

Keyboards do indeed have their place too Lou but after a few years using
the
KB, I sold mine because I got so tired of the many keyboard CW ops that
dump
their keyboard memories and go away for a cup of coffee while you are
left
listening to every word spelled in it's entirety, all punctuation marks
used, etc....I started using the keyboard for the very same reason you
did....I can copy 50WPM or better but can't even come close to that on a

keyer.

You can't go wrong with the single lever Lou!!

I imagine this has been debated here before but, since I'm new here I've
missed it. Here is an interesting article on the subject that perhaps
not all of you have seen.

While I plan to get a single lever paddle in the near future, it was the
dual lever that finally drove me to a keyboard keyer; and I have to say
I'm having more fun than ever now that I can send more accurately at 35
and 40 wpm.

I've included the link to the Google html version of this article
although the original is posted in .pdf on the morssex web site under
articles. If you try to click the above link, you'll need to make it
fit on one line. Good luck and 73 from Lou WA3MIX
