[CW] Flex Cable Source?

Frank,

The "mouse wire" would be perfect - it seems to be engineered to be failure
proof - if the original fellow would use a 1/8 inch stereo to 1/4 inch
stereo adapter.

However, he asked for wire that would fit the 1/4 inch plug and I know of no
cable that is more flexible than this Belden microphone cable. I'll have to
dig in my "junque" box and see if I can get the inventory number from the
side of the cable. It is a superflex cable with a non-reflective casing, it
has three wires plus 100% copper shield and a aluminum shield as well. The
copper in the shield is quite thin however - but it still is 100% shielded
which is important in sound work - no hum that way with a balanced
microphone (2 wires) and 100% shielding.

Works well in r.f. environments for keys too. I've seen people use
telephone "station" wire - unshielded - and find out they had r.f. problems
with their keyers falsing.

If I need a really decently flexible cable I use one of the
ones I slavaged from defective mice. Those long tailed,
hand held plastic mice with the roller ball in the bottom
and the finger acutated microswitches on the top.

There is lots of other computer flotsom that comes in handy
for amateur radio applications.
