[CW] Uses for microphones

I've got a Ten-Tec Omni VI, and the 705 microphone. The small goose neck
flex thing that connects the mic element head to the base is not tall
enough or stiff enough to hang my Koss headset. Maybe if I were still
using the Heil BM-10 headset it would do. I now prefer the Koss set that
fully encloses my ears, blocking out extraneous sound much better than
the light weight Heil BM-10. I used to use the PTT button on the 705
microphone base to key the transmitter for tuning. However the Omni VI
has a both a PTT jack and a key jack on the back panel, making it really
easy to connect a keyer and a straight key, without having to build or
buy a Y adapter or cable. So, now I have a J-38 connected to the PTT
jack and my Logikeyer connected to the key jack. There is no longer any
justification for the space that the mic takes up on the desk top.
