[CW] MixW CW operation

MixW is a wonderful multi-mode program - you can use it free - but if you
register after the trail period ends there is no delay and your parameters
are saved - if you go to www.mixw.net They now make some interfaces. Some
of the interfaces (depending on which radio) don't need serial port (ICOM
does).
Also there are two devices sold on http://www.microham.com I know that the
more expensive unit will do EXACTLY what you want. No serial port is needed
for the rig control as it is built-in to the MicroHam unit. The most
expensive unit called the "micro Keyer" has a built in sound card also. The
CW keyer unit looks like it just does CW and controls the radio. No serial
ports required as the interface is built into the microham unit.
This microham stuff looks like what you need.
I know that Signal Link interfaces don't need a serial port. They just hook
up to your radio with a microphone connector, or even better (different
model) to the ACC jack on back - which allows you to use all modes even
voice. I don't know if there is some way they send CW via the microphone
jack or if you need to use the control software via the ICOM interface
(which DOES use a serial port.) http://www.tigertronics.com/

Hmm.. I believe it still needs a serial port. The question posted was
about
something that connects directly to the USB port. I'd be very interested
in one that doesn't have to have a Serial/USB adapter. I run a MAC G5
and it ony has
USB and Firewire ports.
take care.
