Don't know how old you are, but at 44, I do worry
that by the time I retire and have more time
available to spend on the air, there will be
comparatively little CW activity for me to
participate in.
If "some other ham" chooses some other mode, it's
true that I'm not much affected. But if very few
choose CW, I'm affected significantly.
I learned the telegraph code because it was required
for the licenses that I wanted to earn. Over time,
and particularly after the practice required to earn
Extra class stripes, I found that I enjoyed it. The
path that led me to become a CW operator is now
history.
