Talk about memories. Before I ever dreamed of getting a ham ticket, I got
two of these keys and we connected them up and sent messages from one desk
to another in study hall at Addison Central School in NY. I had forgotten
all about it until I saw this key. I can't recall where we bought them. My
motivation was wanting to earn a Scouting merit badge. I remember we needed
to know both wig-wag and Semaphore methods, and I got significant traction
from being able to talk visually, with the flashing flashlight bulb, at a
good clip using these practice keys. Thanks for showing us the key, Ed. No
wonder I like CW. I was toying with it before I knew what ham radio was. It
was dormant due to WW2, in this instance.
