There is a provision for using an external keyer with this unit - such as
the internal keyer of your radio.
This is what I've done when I operated one of the prototypes.
As far as toe keying, I haven't managed that yet with a keyer, but I had
done a bit of traffic work - as this picture shows:

I got a very poor sending operator at one of the Coast Stations, and he just
couldn't send without making tons of errors, so I hopped up on my chair and
sent:
"OM I AM SENDING BETTER THAN YOU ARE AND I AM USING MY LEFT FOOT TO SEND
WITH"
Then I jumped down and he must have gotten the message, he slowed his speed
down and sent perfectly. I didn't have the "send two words, correct one
word" type of sending anymore.
