I was amazed at the Driver's Test Comment.
Have you seen the current crop of new drivers.
Is it any wonder why we have so many accidents on the road today.
Aside from the following questionable Practices:
- Use of Cell Phones while driving,
- Wearing of Dual Head Phones,
- Playing the Audio System so loud you can hear the "Low Frequency
Thump" from 10 car lengths away, perhaps more
- Questionable head gear which blocks the driver's peripheral vision
The list could go on.
The real point is any one can pass ANY test they set their mind to
now as to whether they use their new skill or use it correctly is a
different matter.
As to learning Morse I have only one regret, I wish Bill had written
the Art and Skill of Radio-Telegraphy much earlier, like just after
WWII when there was such a rush to the air waves.
Perhaps with Bill's book much of the misinformation about how to
learn Morse could have been avoided and we would have more people on
air enjoying the "Quiet" life on Morse. ha ha
As Bill has often said Morse is to be enjoyed as is the process of
learning Morse, I think many of us have lost that zeal to learn
because our teachers have misplaced the excitement of learning
something new.
Something to Think About.

Having heard all of the "excuses" for not learning the code makes me wonder
how those who "can't" learn ever passed a drivers test, or for that matter,
scored well enough on ANY test. Guess we have more high school dropouts in
the ham radio ranks than we ever realized ?
Can't learn or
Won't learn
