W4FOA:
1. Yes, ARRL member.
2. Southeast Division (Georgia)
3. No
Since they (ARRL/Division Directors) have elected to not make their vote
public (which should be no surprise to anyone) I will say that I have
received info from a reliable source that the vote was 14-1, in favor of the
ARRL proposal. Maybe we can identify the "lone ranger" and have him run for
the number 1 job at ARRL!
The fact that they have chosen not to make their vote known just confirms
that the Directors are serving at the pleasure of the ARRL Hqs and not their
constituents...but then that is nothing new, is it?
I have not been able to contact my Director directly to convey my
dissatisfaction with the vote and representation, but I did get a reply from
his Deputy. It was suggested I have a "poor" attitude, lack of respect,
etc..and was reminded that they are serving as "volunteers" in a voluntary
position! If I'm not mistaken, there are some very active campaigns that
take place seeking election...why "volunteer" if you don't want to do the
job? Sounds like a bunch of "sheep" being tended by an aggressvie sheep dog.
Maybe the FCC will simply ignore the proposal as I understand they have done
so often in the past.
Tony, W4FOA
