I attended my one and only auction a few years back, looking for a microfisch 
reader that I knew an automobile dealer had in their service department.  I 
waited around all day and it, of course, was almost the last item to be brought 
up.  I figured to bid no more than30-40 bucks.  After all who in heck would 
want one?  

When the bidding started, I held up five fingers -  well 4 and a thumb- and 
the autioneer immediately pointed at me and said  "50" .  I almost fainted.  
Darned good thing I didnt hold up all 10.  To this day I dont know why he though 
each finger equaled $5.00.   I havent been to an auction since.     


Oh, and it went for $250.00.   And, I went out an bought Buckmasters CD, and 
got rid of the microfische they used to sell.
