At the risk of showing dim memory...
The TO design used two multivibrator circuits. One made dots, the second
would bridge the gap between two dots to form a dash.
The Hammarlund (from my best memory) did not operate that way but instead
used separate circuits / settings for the dots and dashes. It may have had
a dot to dash ratio control to compensate for this while the TO design did
not need such. I always thought the TO method was vastly superior.

Subject: [CW] Hammarlund HK-1B keyer information and manual needed.
Gentelmen: Does anyone have any experience using the Hammarlund HK-1B keyer?
How does it compare to the Hallicrafters HA-1(TO or TTO) keyer? I also need
a
manual for the HK-1B. Can anyone help? - Many thank's- Sherrill W. k4own.
