Maybe what this group should do is establish a calling frequency on a few
bands.
The one mentioned for 80 ...3530 seems OK.

How about one for 40/20 Meters then we could hear each other in the day
within a reasonably distance.

When we are sitting at the computer the HF receiver could be sitting on the
calling frequency and we could perhaps work each other on CW instead of
E-mail...

Between browsing and E-mailing I spend more time on the CPU than on CW,
however if I heard my call or
one of the calls I see but never hear on come blasting through on the
calling freq I would always come back for a good rag chew....even if you
are working around the house you could lsit on the calling freq with the
gain up..
Your XYL would like that...!!!!

I listen randomly for calls I see on here but in several years I have only
heard N1EA once on 40 and the gent called Puck once on 40M.

A simple calling frequency system might be fun for the group members who
like a little rag chewing...

Well I am off to a farm equipment auction now to listen to the auctioneers
call....
