very well put Scott:
I have had 1 30 min qso in the past 6 months and that was with a WA3 who
got his ticket in the 60's like me. sad that it was on ssb that we had this
qso.. last dozen times i tried to start a long qso on cw i was given their
handle qth rst wx rpt and 73 gd dx cu agn.
only long qso's i am hearing are from some of the FIST ops. yes we use to
make friends and learn each others likes. but no more seems the new guys
just want to make a q and move on.
The few interesting qsos i have had are when i state i restore old gear or
that i am running a globe 680a or ht 32 or valiant or one of my other rigs.
then i get some questions and man can i talk then hi.. so maybe we should
start with
rr tnx for come bk om rig is classic stn bk
then again we have to recall that most new hams do not operate cw and never
will. but i have started answering stns that i hear running slow cw..
just in case it is a new ham or an old timer wanting to get up their code
speed. We need some more slow speed nets on the air again..
