More curiously, have you ever considered that "term limits" is the public's
way of saying to the elected, "please, please pass a LAW that will prevent
us from continually re-electing the same morons over and over again"...?

Assuming that radio amateurs will be able to do nothing about the
interference is a fairly large leap. About a hundred years ago this same
government said, "let the amateurs have 200 meters and down, that ought to
get rid of them" and of course the rest is history.
If BPL becomes ubiquitous (and I'm certain that it will) then hams will
find a way to work around it. Advances in DSP encoding and decoding over
just the last few years has proven again and again that common, patterned
interference can be eliminated. Technology will save the day in this case.
Anyone who thinks that a special interest like amateur radio, with its
600,000 members in the US is more 'important' than the 100 million
Americans who WANT broadband Internet access not only have their heads in
the sand but apparently, they also don't understand democracy.
