No, there is no code requirement in the UK any more.  It was abolished ba=
ck
in July, I forget the exact date.  Many EU countries have already done
away with the requirement for knowing morse code.  It's not made a lot of=

difference on the bands, just a few new prefixes :-)  Of course the peopl=
e
who have recently gained access to HF bands already have experience of
vhf operation, the crunch will come when totally new licencees appear
on the bands.  =
