I was lucky enough to get an ad-hoc tour of the Antique Wireless
Association annex one afternoon, and after staring in amazement at a
whole series of things, was shown the rotary spark gap transmitter way
back in one corner. I believe that transmitter was actually used to
produce a 'reproduction' distress call as would have been sent by the
Titanic. The audio used to be on the AWA website, and though I can't
find it there any longer, David Ring N1EA has a copy on his site:
