Yep. 

The proper term is "spark". A "spark gap" is a piece of hardware, not a mode 
description. 

It should be remembered that spark for US hams was outlawed in 1927 - but it 
was a moot point because by then almost all hams had abandoned it for "CW" 
(undamped wave) transmitters. Kind of like outlawing crank starters on cars...
