Just an FYI on the FT817 and I think the ICOM 706 one can use the UP/DOWN 
buttons on the mic as a dash and dot key for the built in electronic keyer in 
these rigs.  Not for the faint hearted I can tell you ... 

Can't wait to see Ebay in 5 years with a rush of Phoenix bidders for FT817 
keyer microphones ...
