You're saying that there was NO separate dynamotor switch for the police
Motorola 30-D "twin coffin" type radio?
Perhaps this was a way of making the radio easier for those who didn't
understand radio! But it is different than the majority of sets I've seen.
Perhaps Mr. Caldwell can tell us the type of aircraft radio set used in the
aircraft.
On all the amateur and marine units I've seen, everyone of them had a
separate power switch. The then had additional PTT switch on the
microphone, and/or were equipped with a key with activated a keying relay to
switch the transmitter into transmit, (which changed the antenna, and muted
the receiver) then the relay would close the key - this provided QSK type
keying - although sometimes there was just a button that had to be pushed,
or a knob to be turned to put the radio into transmit.
