I recently obtained a shorting switch for my Bunnell Double Speed key. This
key is also called a sideswiper or cootie key.

When I try to install the shorting switch, the gap under the lip where it
fits is too wide.

The shorting switch is the same thickness as other cootie keys.

The shorting switch lever has a split or fork in the end which pivots (near
the screw).

W1TP Tom says that this is adjusted one side up the other down, and prevents
the shorting switch from shorting falsely.

Can anyone help me? How do I get my shorting lever to work? Do I bend the
lip? Do I adjust the fork at the end? If so, how?
