[CW] VERTICAL BASE tie in for radials

You would be much better off to use a copper strip or heavy copper wire as a 
ground bus, laid around the base of the vertical, with the radials brazed to 
the bus using silver alloy brazing rods and a Mapp gas torch.  I put mine in 
over 20 years ago and the radial/bus assemby is still intact.

Aluminium gradually turns to a white powder after prolonged contact with 
moist earth.
