[CW] Interesting (?) Beacon...any ideas?

Some interesting comments and thoughts.
I was using a vertical GP at the time, so no idea what the pointing azimuth
would be for the signal. It continued until at least 1100Z (approx) at
which
point I tuned off the frequency. The only other signals that I noted during
this period were coming from the USA New England area and KH6, but in both
cases,
these areas were much stronger than the U/I station. I asked the W1 station
to
listen to see how strong the U/I station was, but he was unable to hear it
at all.
Had the station been signing 9 -..-. 11 (9/11) vice 9 -.-.-. 11 it might
have
made a bit more sense. But as one reply suggested, if the originator can't
spell
RIDDANCE, perhaps the / prosign -..-. could also be in error. If the
station
shows again tomorrow and others monitor, perhaps we can compare notes.
Again, first heard a bit before 1000Z on 10106.40.

Subject: [CW] Interesting (?) Beacon...any ideas?
Good Morning Gang,
This morning while downing my first cup of java, I was tuning around on 30
meters.
Came across a signal on 10106.40 (on my TenTec OMNI 6+), auto cw at about
15+WPM.
First heard at 0959Z and then at 5 minute intervals. Here is the text:
9KR11 GOOD RIDANCE OATH OF ETERNAL DEATH (Followed by prosign) -.-.-.
The 9KR11 is a bit unusual as it is sent 9 -.-.-. 11 (the same sequence as
the ending prosign). The word RIDANCE is spelled as such vice RIDDANCE?
The signal at first was about S1-2 (on a basically dead band) and now
approximately
one hour later it is now S7 and appears to be increasing. I am located in
northwest
Georgia.
Any thoughts? The phrase may have some significance to someone out there,
but
not me?
Thanks...

Subject: [CW] Marine Propagation test
I am not sure if this is on CW or SSB with a CW i.d. but I thought some of
the list members might wish to participate, or observe:
===================================================
>From WGM Central Florida ====
This weekend I will be testing a CWID beacon on 4439.5 Mhz USB, with the
call sign WGM repeated 3 times every one minute.
On the even minute it transmits a Horizontal dipole, located 52 feet off the
ground, a NVIS design antenna.
On the odd minute it switched onto a 26 ft vertical antenna, with
counterpoise to resonate at the desire frequency and radials extending into
a 32000 sq. acre lake in Central Florida.
Lat/Long of this beacon is 27.23N 081.19.785 W
This beacon is design for marine vessels to get a better handle on the
serious propagation on short skip conditions.
Your assistance is much appreciated.
For this weekend only, you can send reports to [email protected] or to this
address.
Thank you,
Regards,
