Stan,

Among others, that was proposed by Peter Martinez within the last year in a
letter appearing in QST.  Peter is the main inventor of PSK31, and is on
your side of the Pond.

In the US, we already have the digital-analog division in the bands.  So, it
would be fairly easy (some "housekeeping" changes) for our FCC to designate
these wide-band vs. narrow-band.  I don't know about G-land, but for
Canadian hams it would be a new restriction, since right now they use all
modes pretty much anywhere.

But it makes sense to me.
