[CW] FS At Auction: MERCURY KEY

Hi all:

I agree that greed is not always healthy.  The era when owners could command
such inflated "starting"  prices for these "original" Mercurys is over, for
many, many reasons--some of which are being articulated in this reflector
every single day.  In addition, there are competing inventories of "clone"
Mercury new paddles supplied by Bencher, and supposedly manufactured in
strict compliance with the specs mandated by the late Steve.  Paying a
premium of several hundred dollars merely for the "intangible" of owning an
"original" (and I do own N2DAN's SN # 275) makes no sense anymore.

By the way :  Is there anyone out there who has truly and carefully compared
the "original" Mercury with the Bencher Mercury? If so, your comments will
be appreciated.
