I thought we were all supposed to be mature adults living in a democracy.
There's nothing wrong at all about candid debate with strong views about
issues of common interest.

I'm increasingly surprised at the low levels of tolerance tending to surface
from time to time in this and other reflectors with respect to frank
comments and ideas, and believe this attitude contravenes a critical and
fundamental trait of our Western culture.  We are losing young soldiers
abroad every day in our efforts to promote this way of life, as opposed to
the " 'non-confrontational'  uniformity" that's pursued abroad by religious
and political intolerance.

After all, we must ask ourselves: Was this forum created as a Monastery
where these secluded Monks must in uniform and perfect synchronization
entone or else,  those rigidly-imposed Gregorian chants at sunrise, midnight
and sunset?  Well, I didn't think so!
