You've got to be kidding:
The FCC just
>does not believe that cw is a skill that hams should have anymore and I
>would not be surprised to see all cw testing pass away someday, and it may
>not be to far in the future. Does anyone think the FCC is going to change
>their minds and reinstate cw testing at 20wpm or even 13wpm? I doubt it.
Its
>a waste of time to argue about the need for cw etc, because the powers that
>be think otherwise. We who use cw should just enjoy the mode and the fun we
>have with it and hope the FCC retains some parts of the bands for cw.

You do understand that members of the FCC are nothing more than political
appointees? And that they are appointed by your elected representatives
in the U.S. House and Senate?
Changing their collective "minds" is simply a matter of bringing the proper
pressure
and influence to bear on them. That's the way things are done in our
society.
If you were in the business of selling radios, magazines, antennas and other
related goods and services, I feel certain you might argue loud and long
that making it easier for people to get a license to use your products or
services would benefit our whole system. And that's what is happening to
many of the proud traditions of amateur radio.
