Morse Code kind of reminds me the way the Catholic Church had it going.
I don't know if it's still this way or not; but it used to be that all
priests had to learn to speak Latin. Dead language you say? Maybe so;
but two priests, from opposite sides of the world, meeting for the first
time always had that common bond between them and could communicate,
even if they didn't understand each other's native tongue!
That was the nice thing intended about Morse Code. If you were really
good with Q signals you could have a conversation with a Ham from
another part of the world, even if he didn't know a word of English and
you didn't know a word of whatever!
