Not HOGWASH I am sadly afraid. Not everyone has the same talents and
aptitudes. If they did, life would sure be boring, everyone proficient a=
t
the same thing. We sure would miss all the things that make each of us a=
n
individual.=0D
I do COUNTED cross stitch. JOHN, if I handed you a diagram with little
symbols scattered around on it....hundreds of thousands of them perhaps o=
n a
really difficult project...and a piece of fabric with TINY squares or
sometimes even tinier irregular threads on it and said "Duplicate the lit=
tle
symbols in a multitude of different colors of thread in just the right
squares or threads and come up with this gorgeous picture", could you sit
right down and do it? How many times would you start in the wrong place,
hopefully to realize it immediately but often to realize it after hours o=
f
work and have to CAREFULLY, as not to cut the fabric, cut out thousands o=
f
stitches, sometimes but 1/16 of an inch each (two of them actually cuz th=
ey
cross, hense the name)? No, I think not. If you want to give it a try, =
I
will gladly send you a pattern, fabric and all the embroidery floss to go
with it. BTW, not everyone CAN do Counted Cross Stitch...they just can't=
=20
see" the picture on a blank piece of canvas. THEY use STAMPED fabric wi=
th
the X's already on it. (Perhaps, a fabric Code Quick of sorts?????)=0D
I AM learning a language "based on sounds visually". (Code Quick)=0D
I suspect JOHN that you are pretty young since you have obviously not had
many life experiences.=0D
I can read an instruction book over a hundred times but when I sit down t=
o
do what I have read...ZILCH...NOTHING...NADA.=0D
NOW, let me SEE it and then do it and VOILA...success!=0D
The CW says _.. and I see D, not as _.. as you may do but as DOG did it.=20
Who cares HOW it works as long as it works.=0D
At 55, I know that I can do most anything I attempt if not hindered by
strength or mental aptitude (math...YUCK) but some of these things may
require more effort or a different method to ACHEIVE a measure of succes=
s.=0D
RONALD, I am proud of you for succeeding at what was obviously difficult =
for
you, as it is for me. I think it is a DOUBLE success if it IS difficult.=
=20
WHEN I pass my Code test, I will extra special proud of myself because it
DID NOT come easily.=0D

Right there, you started the problem. You don't learn a "language" based=0D
on sound "visually.=0D

Then whoever gave you the Novice test obviously did not do a very good=0D
job.=0D
