No I don't know the difference Uranito.
I know the Dyna company made sideswiper type keys - in France they call them
"Lame" - which means "blade".
I know there are two types of sideswiper - the type with a blade (hacksaw
blade) and the type with a stiff lever of metal that doesn't bend.
One of our famous Cootie senders, Bob, W6BNB has the original cootie key,
the Bunnell Double Speed Key, also called a Sideswiper. (Bunnell had the
patent on this key.) The Bunnell key has a lever with a piece of thin
spring metal at the end. W6BNB built a Cootie with a pivot (like the
Vibroplex single lever key for electronic keyer) and he says that he sends
much better with that. I agree - he does sound better on that key.
I have three cooties, one has a hacksaw blade, one is the Bunnell Double
Speed key and one is a Vibroplex single lever paddle (this has the dot and
the dash contacts shorted). I like the hacksaw best.
