[CW] Question Marks Between QTH repeats

Does anyone else find the sending of "?" between repeats of a QTH annoying?

This seems to be a new habit by many ops I've worked lately.

Example:

QTH Katonah, NY ? Katonah, NY.

Sounding like an old fart, it's not correct or appropriate and (if you are 
really in a cranky mood) is condescending as if you didn't copy it the first 
time.

Who started this annoying trend? Why does everyone like it so much?
