Sure, there are lots of OMsm up here in W/K land doing this.  I myself use a
Drake R4B and TX4B,  and occasionally a Hammarlund HQ-129 and Hallicrafters
HT-37. Drake and some other companies made "separates" into the late 1970's.
There is much interest, and it is growing, in separate RX/TX set ups, in the US
right now.  There are some advantages (as well as the disadvantages, hi!) to
using such a station, as I am sure you are finding out, especially for CW
operators.
