Back in the 60s my Navy Speed Key license required a demonstration that I
could send and receive at 30 WPM. I actually did sit down and they ran me
through the testing procedure when I aboard the USS Hazelwood, DD-531.
However, when I was aboard the USS Randolph the chief never had time to
test me, but about two weeks after I was discharged I received a beautiful
Speed Key certificate.
Fun days, too bad I didn't realize it at the time.
