This isn't the first time I've heard this "Outlawed" reference, and I wish
somebody would explain it to me. The US military has gotten away from Morse,
and it's not an authorized mode for everyday usage, but "outlawed"? I don't
think so, else that bunch of folks out east who still train in Morse (for
covert ops) are traitors, aren't they?

Makes about as much sense as saying  that they've "outlawed" handcranks and
vibrator spark coils for cars and trucks, or that they've "outlawed" the
6CW4. Technology moves on, and the military thinks (that's a good 'un!) that
they've made a good choice to continue and further their mission by getting
away from Morse.
