I certainly hope they don't do away with at least some CW requirement. 
Believe they did that once before and gave them a band of their own (27
mHz), but I hear rumors it didn't work.

I'm not sure what has happened over the past 10+ years but there must be
something in our environment that has affected our systems whereby
learning code and passing a code exam at what can only be described as
below minimal standards, is just impossible to do.  For me, it falls
right there in the same category as welfare where you find the "working
capable" not working because they can get something for free.

I think it was that famous CW operator Mr. Nike that summed it all up
pretty well..."Just do it". You don't know what you are missing until
you give it a fair shake.  After all, 5 wpm really is NO CODE.

My 2 cents worth on this dead horse subject.
