In two weeks the Carson Valley Radio Club will begin its second Amateur
Extra upgrade class. The class is designed to prepare students to pass
their FCC Element 4 written examination. It will run for twelve weeks and
culminate in a Volunteer Examination session on Friday night, April 9th.

The free classes will be held at the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch
Center at the Douglas County Airport, half-way between Minden and Carson
City, and will run every Thursday night from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.,
starting Thursday, January 22nd. A map can be found at
http://www.cvrc.net/images/SierraFrontMap.gif.

Pre-registration is required as the class is limited to the first fifteen
students who apply. Please register by e-mail to me at [email protected] or by
telephone at 775-267-4900. Additional information is available at the CVRC
web site at http://www.cvrc.net/extraclass.html .

Two years ago our first class graduated fourteen out of fifteen students as
new Extra Class licensees. We are looking forward to similar success this
year.
