Two interesting uses of IRLP Reflectors (multi node connections) is (was)
scheduled this week:

1) Connection between the International Space Station and Western Reflector
9253

Jim W2COP and a radio club in Rochester NY made a live connection between
the International Space Station on the Western Reflector Channel 3 (9253) .
This contact was requested by none other than Astronaut Ed Lu himself as he
ends his tour of duty. Ed made a contact with his Rochester NY Alma Matta
where he attended school. It happened at Wednesday Sept. 10th, between 1225
UTC and 1240 UTC. I played it over 447.000 in Las Vegas.

2) 9/11 Commemorative Net Carried over IRLP

Jim Haynie, President, ARRL, W5JBP, will participate in the second 9/11
Commemorative Net on September 11. Haynie said he will talk about the role
of Amateur Radio in homeland security and urge each amateur to develop
skills in emergency communications and to be prepared. The net will involve
linking repeaters across the US and around the world via the Internet. The
Official Net Begins @ 7:00 PM EDT (2300 UTC) on Ref 9605, the Philadelphia
Reflector. You will hear the controllers at 3:00 PM PDT. Listen to catch on
to the net format, then check in if you want to. The Net will be played in
Las Vegas on 447.000 which will connected to ref 9605 staring 3 PM PDT.
