Subject: Last Call for SNARS Picnic

This is a reminder that if you plan to attend SNARS' end-of-summer
picnic this Saturday, September 6, and you have not yet RSVP'd, you need
to do so to me immediately. The shopping trip to get the hamburgers and
hot dogs will be Thursday morning, so I need to know no later than
tomorrow (Wednesday) if you are planning to be there. As a reminder,
the picnic will take place this Saturday morning from 11 A.M. until 2
P.M. at the Gator Swamp Park, which is located at the end of Egyptian
Drive off of Pyramid Lake Highway in Spanish Springs. This picnic will
take the place of our usual breakfast gathering and will also be the
third quarter business meeting for SNARS. The club meeting will begin
at 12:30 P.M. and will include nominations for the 2004 Board of
Directors. Attendees are asked to bring the following potluck items:

If your last name begins with letters A - I, please bring a side dish If
your last name begins with letters J - R, please bring a dessert If your
last name begins with letters S - Z, please bring drinks

Attractions included at this event are a tailgate swap meet (bring
anything you wish to sell or trade) and HF equipment operation through
which we will be attempting to contact some of the special event
stations involved in the annual "Route 66 on the Air Event." This
operation will be conducted from the Washoe County ARES Emergency
Communications Van.

This event is open to all amateur as well as anyone with an interest in
amateur radio, so please join us! For directions or to RSVP, call me on
the air or by telephone at 425-6102. Information about this picnic can
also be found at the SNARS web site, http://snars.org.

Matt Parker, N7TOD
SNARS Chairman 2003
