QST QST QST... Attention all amateurs! The annual Douglas County
Simulated Emergency Test will be held Saturday, October 4th from
approximately 8:00AM to 10:00AM. All amateur radio operators are invited
to participate.
The scenario for this year's exercise is a major earthquake north of
Lake Tahoe that has significant effect on the power, communication and
transportation capabilities in the Tahoe, Carson City and Douglas County
areas. The exercise will make use of a directed net, simulated traffic
and a mix of virtual and actual dispatch of personnel. A directed net
will begin at 0800 from the Douglas County Emergency Management Center
on 146.460 simplex.
We will make use of both VHF and HF capabilities.
146.460 MHz - Net control command frequency
147.420 MHz - Carson Valley Tac 1
147.480 Mhz - Tahoe Basin Tac 3
147.540 Mhz - TRE Tac 5
3970 KHz and 7245 KHz - HF relay
145.050 - Packet
The following frequencies will be used for contacting Nevada Section
NTS.
3985 LSB, 3600 CW, 7280 LSB, 7111 CW
