Special Weather Statement
355 am PDT Tue may 6 2003

...Snow and thunderstorms possible Thursday and Thursday night over
northeast California and western Nevada...

An unseasonably cold low pressure system is expected to move into
western Nevada on Thursday. Snow will develop over northeast
California and the Lake Tahoe basin Thursday morning with showers
and thunderstorms increasing over western Nevada and eastern
California during the afternoon. Snow levels will drop to the valley
floors on Thursday during the late afternoon or early evening.

Several inches of snow will be possible in the higher elevations
Thursday through Thursday night...while light snow accumulations may
occur in some valley areas on Thursday night. Winds will be gusty at
times with choppy conditions likely on Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake.
