[CVRC] Reminder! CVRC Meeting and FIELD DAY!

Greetings!  Tomorrow, Saturday June 28, will be CVRC's General =
Membership meeting.  The presentation focus will be Field Day!  If =
you've ever wondered what Field Day was all about, why we even bother, =
or you're ambivalent to leap off from the sideline into true ham radio =
geekdom' this is the meeting for you!

As always, CVRC general membership meetings begin promptly at 10:00 =
a.m..  We will begin by means of a historical review to Field Day--where =
it's been and where it is today, as well as reviewing how to maintain =
logs, how to make contacts, Field Day rules, as well as CVRC's own take =
on how we'll approach Field Day.  At 11:00 we'll head outside to our =
Field Day site where you can participate in any number of ways.  You can =
help erect towers, help guy antennas and more, or simply assist in being =
told where you can run the line of coax to.  With your help we hope to =
be on the air by 12:00.  If assembling isn't your forte, then feel free =
to ask the Field Day Leaders (Scott Mercer and myself) or any of the =
managers to Field Day to see where you can be of help.

CVRC's prime objective is safety, fun, and maybe even learn something in =
the process.  There are plenty of experienced operators who would dearly =
welcome your willingness to help take logs.  There are folks who've =
signed up to be mentors as well as mentees.  We'll be operating =
Satellite, Digital, HF and plenty more modes and varieties to please. =20

Let's also not forget the BBQ and Potluck Saturday at 6:00 p.m..  If you =
haven't already signed up know that you can sign up to join in the =
festivities up until 4:00 p.m.!

As an added incentive, CVRC will make breakfast on Sunday morning for =
those willing to help and support our Field Day. And, to help relieve =
our vocal chords and support those operators wanting to continue on =
through the wee hours of the morning will be a special star gazing side =
attraction beginning at 10:00 p.m. Saturday.

So, do try and join us for the meeting or any part of Field Day with =
CVRC and we hope to satisfy any curiosity and/or skills you would like =
further experience with.  And, if you're like me, maybe you'll even get =
away from the keyboard (my digital preference) and attempt to gather =
some appreciation for contesting.  Hey, I've done stranger things!

Location is the Hilltop Community Church, east of Home Depot at the =
south=20
end of Carson City, June 28-29!  BE THERE!!
