The National Weather Service has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
southeastern Carson City in western Nevada
central Douglas County in western Nevada
extreme west central Lyon County in western Nevada
this includes the Fish Springs and Johnson Lane areas
in Douglas County
* until 430 PM PDT
* at 315 PM PDT...weather spotters reported very heavy rain from
thunderstorms over the Pine Nut Mountains in eastern Douglas
County. Weather radar indicated rainfall rates of over 1 inch per
hour in this area.
* The thunderstorms with excessive rainfall will move only
slowly north by 430 PM.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warning area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property. Do not attempt to cross
swiftly flowing waters or waters of unknown depth by foot or by
automobile. If your vehicle stalls...abandon it immediately and seek
higher ground. The Johnson Lane and Fish Springs areas of Douglas
County are known flash flood areas.
To report damaging weather have the nearest law enforcement agency
relay your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
