[CVRC] A couple of ARRL related questions

Greetings from the (not very cold) Great White North!

Ok, so it's not as warm here as it is there...

But I digress. I see in the most recent issue of the newsletter the count
of members who are also ARRL members. Well folks, that number has just
gone up by one more. I have taken out a membership in the ARRL and look
forward to participating more in some of the contests and activities
available to members in the near future, albeit at a distance. (Membership
number : 2000050926, exp 2004/06/30)

One of the areas that I found on the ARRL website refers to a couple of the
operating awards available to the less experienced amateurs - like me - who
have only been licenced for a year or two. I am referring to the Rag
Chewers Club and the ARRL Friendship Award. According to the ARRL website,
applying through a ARRL affiliated club carries no charge, where making
application through ARRL HQ carries a $10.00 fee for each award.

I am certainly interested in obtaining both, and am more than willing to
provide the required postage to Canada. Please let me know if the club
does in fact handle these awards, and if so I will submit the necessary
application forms forthwith.
