I want to thank and welcome all who checked into the revitalized Carson
Valley Training Net last night. The net is being held each Sunday at 7:00
p.m. on the W7DI 147.270(+) repeater. Each month we will practice with a
different message format from a different common served agency. It does us
no good to practice with only one format when we could go to work with the
Red Cross or Salvation Army or County OEM and have to work with a whole new
format.
During the month of February we are practicing with standard ARRL radiogram
format messages. We will learn to write, send and receive them. We will
also practice directed net procedures.
Prior to next week's session, interested people should obtain a copy of the
ARRL ARES Resources Manual or equivalent radiogram documentation. The full
resources manual can be purchased from ARRL or downloaded free of charge
from their web site:

Regardless of the source, please obtain radiogram information and have it
available for next week's net.
If anyone has any questions regarding the training net or any of the
material above, please let me know and please join us at 7:00 p.m. each
Sunday on 147.270(+) MHz.
