Hi Matt,

When I put up my tower, we were still in one of the county pockets, so I
didn't have to deal with the City of Reno. For info, when I got my
permit from the county, they first checked to see if there were any
CC&R's in effect (there were not) and then checked the plans. They
required a structural engineering plan, signed by a PE registered in the
state of Nevada, and a plot plan showing the location of the tower and
its relatioship to my property lines all surrounding structures. They
mentioned that if I was going higher than 75 feet, I would need
additional data, including approval from the county planning
commission. Since I was only going 40 feet, that was not an issue.
Apart from that, it was fairly simple. Pay the fee ($10.00), pick up
the permit and build the tower.

There were two inspection points during construction. The first after
the foundation was dug and the rebar installed and, second, after
completion. The only requirement they added was that any welding that
was done be by a certified welder. No problem there either. This was
about 4 years ago. What changes in codes may have occurred in the
intrim, I don't know.

That's about it. No big deal.

Russ
