Good evening, all -

A reminder to all that the SNARS monthly social gathering for May will be
dinner on Monday evening, May 5 - not breakfast this Saturday as is
customary.  We are trying a get together on a weekday evening this month in
an effort to provide opportunity to those not available Saturday mornings
to join with us this month.  This is an experiment to see what response we
get and whether or not it will be feasible to hold some of our gatherings
on alternate dates in the future.  Please join us at 6:30 P.M. Monday
at  Denny's Restaurant in Sparks, adjacent to the intersection of I-80 and
McCarran Boulevard - all are welcome.  Presentation will be an update on
emergency communications programs in Washoe County by yours truly.

Also as a reminder, workers are still needed for the Reno Spring Hamswap on
May 10.  There has been a lot of enthusiasm expressed about this event, but
please remember that it takes workers to make the event go.  We need help
serving coffee and donuts, greeting and directing visitors/sellers, and for
the safety team that will be responsible for ensuring a safe time for all
participants.  The more volunteers we get, the shorter time we will need to
work each one - so, please pitch in and help us make this first joint
hamfest in Reno a success and an event we can build on to make bigger and
better each year!  A meeting for next week just prior to the hamswap is
being planned for all volunteers to discuss assignments and objectives -
further info on that meeting will be announced soon.  In the meantime, if
you are interested in being a part of the success of this event, contact me.
