Anyone interested in the handgun training being offered by CVRC member Dan
Linn KD7DJV in the current issue of the CVRC newsletter?

If you've ever considered applying for your CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon)
permit or even just wanted to learn to shoot handguns, Dan is offering all
CVRC members and spouses the same course he teaches monthly through Douglas
County Parks and Recreation at the reduced price of $50.00 (normally $100.00).

Centered around personal protection, this course is a great learning course
for beginners and a great refresher course for those with experience. Using
PowerPoint, video and hands-on training, this course teaches handgun and
ammunition selection, stances, safety and the proper way to shoot a
handgun, as well as Nevada laws pertaining to firearms.

Successful participants will receive a certificate of completion which is
accepted by the State of Nevada for application for CCW permits.

Participants will need one or two handguns, 150 rounds of factory
ammunition for the first one and one hundred rounds for the second (no
reloads, please). Hearing and eye protection is mandatory.

There will be a written test which will be completed at home and a
qualification shoot will conclude the class. Qualification will be at the
Douglas County Shooting range.

There are 6-7 hours of classroom time and 5-6 hours of range time. A
typical schedule for these courses is Saturday and Sunday at the Civil Air
Patrol building at Douglas Airport. Classes run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00
Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. until
finished on Sunday at the range.

No experience is needed for this class; just a handgun and a desire to
learn to use it properly.

This class is being offered at half-price by and for CVRC members. For
information contact Dan Linn KD7DJV at (775) 267-4198 ([email protected]).

Dan has tentatively scheduled two classes for us: one running Saturday and
Sunday, November 2-3, and another running Wednesday and Friday evening,
November 6 and 8, with Saturday morning at the range. Both classes are two
short of the minimum number needed.

Would anyone care to attend either class??
