[CVRC] APRS?

Anyone into APRS or thinking of getting into it?  I just purchased some GPS
receivers for APRS and am looking for others involved with this.  What types
of software is being used?  Map programs?  I have Streetmaps USA for windows
3.1 and 95 on up as well as Streets 2001, can either of these be used?  I
also have one of the older near useless DOS versions with maps up to a few
dozen miles off, non-existant roads and city streets shown as major
interstates but not labeled, very major roads (Route 66) not on the map at
all... Precision Street Maps USA is off quite a bit too, addresses a couple
hundred digits off, streets in wrong towns, incorrect zip-codes, schools and
firehouses off by up to a few miles, or on the wrong side of the road etc,
but it's better than nothing!  Has anyone tried using APRS with the new
three dimesional maps sold at Office Depot???  This looks like fun.
